Kikkoman Foods, Inc. recently celebrated their tenth anniversary in the Folsom area, and held their celebratory event at the beautiful Serrano Country Club. The floral decor included a fall infused theme: rustic metal containers, gourds, miniature pumpkins, artichokes and pomegranates. Orange and yellow bicolor 'Circus' roses as well as yellow oncidium orchids made these florals over the top. A manzanita tree decked with battery operated lights and cymbidium orchids finished off the appetizer table which was a focal point for the room. The decor chosen included brown & orange linens to compliment the florals as well as brown chiavari chairs. What a beautiful Fall theme for a great celebration. Congratulations to the Kikkoman Foods Folsom Plant!

The flower portion has never been a big ordeal, but when you combine all of the different elements that you run through when putting on a production...well, let's just say that I have a new respect for brides, planners and the energy it takes to have an event come together flawlessly! Joe and I married on the Central Coast of California where my family is from, and the both of us attended college. We were married at the Santa Margarita Ranch, a historical property which has a beautiful barn which we utilized for our reception. Our color scheme included chocolate brown, a beautiful shade of green and whites. We were going for a classic look. Centerpieces featured included tall vases with florals and tall branches with glass votive holders. Because the building is historical, we chose to use battery operated lighting in all centerpieces to add some ambience. The tall vases were filled with crystal accents and then lit with the battery operated acolytes to add a neat touch. It was such a beautiful day, and so nice to see our families come together. I can't say enough thanks to all of our wonderful vendors which were so great in making everything flow smoothly!

Sarah and Justin were married at Lake Tulloch Resort on a beautiful evening which ended with a breathtaking sunset. Blue and white hydrangeas along with white gerbera daisies with dark centers, Vendela roses and touches of Tiffany Blue and chocolate brown ribbons were used to tie the theme together.

Candles are a great way to add romance to any reception! Often times, reception rooms can turn dull due to the lack of lighting, but candles give us that needed light and romantic feel! In addition to candles for your reception, a new trend is to line the aisle of your ceremony with hurricanes featuring lit candles. Imagine this in a dim lit room, talk about drama! This year we are seeing floating candles, colored candles, textured, and the list goes on! But, one of the greatest new inventions is battery operated candles. Is there anyone out there who can't have open flames in their venue? Well, here is your answer! Coming in array of colors and lasting up to forty hours, these are a great alternative and in some cases much better than the real thing! One of the greatest features of these battery operated lights are that they come in hot colors, but these can also be submerged in water as well! This gives a great effect and adds a touch that guests will be raving about for years to come! Expect to see brides creating a "lounge" feel to the reception by adding color to centerpieces and an unexpected twist to the traditional candle!

These items can are incorporated into centerpieces as well as bouquets. Along the same lines, we are seeing the use of fruits and vegetables tied into centerpieces to give an organic feel. I had a great time working with this couple, which held their wedding and ceremony at the beautiful Saddle Creek Resort. Amanda's bouquet was designed with white Casa Blanca lilies, 'Black Bacara' roses, white lisianthus, 'Dolores' roses, white waxflower and touches of silver accents. We carried the burgundy and white theme into the arch piece as well as the centerpieces. The centerpieces featured tall glass vases that held a beautiful floral spray atop. Inside the vase trailing ivy and rocks were magnified when water was filled in these. These really finished off the room decor and made a great conversation piece for the guests. Cheers to you both!

Centerpieces for your reception are one of the main ways to dress up any reception location, and here is what is hot for 2008 * Expect to see mixing of tall and short centerpieces that will add interest and get your guests interacting with other tables. Especially for rooms with tall ceilings, you need a middle ground to tie everything together. By adding in low centerpieces with tall, you also don't loose the tall centerpieces, since they are all at one level across the room... your eye will go up and down as you see the floral sprays. * Incorporating uncommon items into floral arrangements such as fruit will continue to be a huge trend for this year. In the coming posts to my BLOG, I will be writing about the 2008 floral trends forecasted by The Knot. Venue: Serrano Country Club Photographer: Love at First Click Dear friends of mine, Josh and Ramona, finally tied the knot after a courtship that started in junior high school. These two are the perfect match, and their wedding was nothing less than spectacular at the Serrano Country Club in El Dorado Hills, CA. The bride carried a bouquet composed of blue hydrangea, 'Eskimo' roses, buplerum, bells of ireland and white waxflower. The aisle was decorated with green moss balls hung from shepherd's hooks, and a wrought iron arch featured a floral spray in the blue and white color theme. Centerpieces included a combination of tall and short to mix things up and add interest. These featured blue hydrangea, white stock, gerbera daisies, delphinium, bells of ireland, beargrass, and white waxflower. What a magnificent evening and beautiful day! Congratulations and we are looking forward to the great times ahead!
